Marketing for clubs, festivals and events

Few businesses have a community as strong as a club night or a festival. The challenge is turning that energy into tickets sold and people who come back for the next one.

Where to start

Methods with examples

Illustrative figures.

Phased sales with capped quantities

Each phase has a fixed price and cap. The sales pace of each phase tells you whether you need to push or whether it makes sense to move the price change forward.

Phase dashboardtable
phase price cap sold days open
base presale $450 300 300 2 sold out
phase 1 $550 500 410 10
phase 2 $650 400 0 0
door $800 - - -

phase 1 pace: 41 per day · 90 left to close it

Recommendation. Open the presale only to the base. It rewards people who come back and in two days shows how much demand there is.

Returning attendees

Each date's list is matched against previous ones by phone or email. It is the main indicator in this industry.

Return rate by datetable
date attendees had come before return rate
March 820 - -
April 900 310 34%
May 960 402 42%

Recommendation. If the percentage drops, check the experience at the door and the bar first, before the messaging.

Each partner with their own link and code

The link measures online sales; the code, sales made at the box office or by message.

A partner's linkURL
https://entradas.ejemplo.com/fecha-mayo?utm_source=marca_x&utm_medium=alianza&utm_campaign=mayo
code: MARCAX · 10% off in presale

Recommendation. Renew only the partnerships that sold. What is not measured gets renewed out of goodwill.

What we recommend in each case

If this is happeningWe recommendWhy
Everything sells in the last weekA presale with phases and caps, announced to the base firstWithout phases there is no reason to buy early
Direct messages repeat the same questionsAn agent with a keyword and answers about entry and pricesThe team stops answering the same thing every night
You do not know who cameTicketing platform and guest list connected to a CRMWithout a base there is no presale and no measurable return
Sponsorships with no measurable resultA link and code per partnerWhat sold gets renewed
Unsold tablesA table offer on WhatsApp for people who have booked beforeThey are the audience with the most proven spend

Real case studies that apply to events

Analysis of cases published by the brands or the platforms, with their sources. North did not take part in them. None is from a club or a festival: they show mechanisms that work the same way in this industry.

What we measure

Tickets sold per phase and per channel, attendees who return for the next date, sales by each partner, and table or bar spend.
